Why was Joe Tarin on the run?
Joe Daniel Tarin was wanted by the office of the sheriff of Tarrant County, Texas, United States for sexual assault of a child and by the U.S. Marshals Service for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. He was been arrested.
Tarin is 5’6″ tall. His registered weight is 220 pounds.
In December 2020, Tarin pleaded guilty to the sexual assault of a child and online solicitation of a minor. He went on the run while he was out on bond and waiting to be sentenced.
In January 2021, Tarin fled the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex in Texas. The area encompasses 11 counties namely Collin County, Dallas County, Denton County, Ellis County, Hunt County, Johnson County, Kaufman County, Parker County, Rockwall County, Tarrant County and Wise County.
For almost four years, Tarin was on the run. He was back or still in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, according to images from his TikTok account in 2024.
On November 4, 2024, the U.S. Marshals Service’s North Texas Fugitive Task Force (NTFTF) released a statement seeking the public’s assistance in locating Tarin. On January 16, 2025, he turned 31.
On January 28, 2025, the NTFTF apprehended Tarin in Roanoke, Virginia, USA. On January 29, 2025, he made his initial appearance at the Tarrant County Courthouse in Fort Worth, Tarrant County.
Tarin’s arrest was a result of the coordination between the U.S. Marshals Service and other agencies including the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, the Dallas County Sheriffs Office, the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office, the Department of Public Safety, Texas Department of Criminal Justice – Office of the Inspector General and the police departments of Fort Worth; Grand Prairie, Texas and Mansfield, Texas.
