Quezon is one of the five provinces in the Calabarzon region of the Philippines. The others are Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Rizal.

Lucena is geographically located in Quezon but the city is independent from the province. Tayabas is a component city of the province, which has 39 municipalities.

Keith Micah “Mike” de Luna Tan was born in Lucena to Ronnel Tan and Angelina “Helen” de Luna Tan. On June 30, 2022, Angelina assumed office as the governor of Quezon and Mike assumed office as the congressman of the fourth district of the province, a position his mother held from June 30, 2013 to June 30, 2022.

Maria Ahtisa Rodriguez Manalo was born in Candelaria, Quezon. She attended Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation in Lucena.

On May 2, 2025, Manalo represented Quezon at Miss Universe Philippines 2025 and competed against 65 other candidates at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila. She won the title.
