John Thomas Martin IV, 22, of Kerrville, Kerr County, Texas, United States was arrested again. In June 2022, he was wanted on a charge related to a felony terroristic threat offense.

At the time, Kerr Crime Stoppers Inc. offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information that would lead to Martin’s arrest. He was released after being arrested and charged with terroristic threat. 

At around 6:30 p.m. on February 15, 2025, Martin was arrested at a Walmart in Gun Barrel City, Henderson County, Texas by Gun Barrel City Police Department officers. He allegedly threatened to shoot up the store.

When the officers arrived, they found Martin inside the store wearing a ballistic vest under his hoodie. He was carrying shooting ear plugs, a Glock 10MM semi-automatic black handgun, three magazines and one extended magazine, totaling 63 rounds of 10mm.

Martin was booked into the Henderson County Jail in Athens, Henderson County and charged with terroristic threat and unlawful carrying of a weapon. A bond has yet to be set.

It is unclear why the Kerrville man was in Gun Barrel City. Kerville is around 280 miles away from Gun Barrel City.

Incorporated on May 26, 1969, Gun Barrel City is nestled on the shores of Cedar Creek Lake, the fourth largest lake in Texas. The town is within the Mabank Independent School District, which is based in Mabank, Texas.
