Why were Hillary Williams and Michael McCary arrested?
Hillary Danielle Williams, 33, is the girlfriend of Michael Scott McCary, 37. They are both residents of Lufkin, Angelina County, Texas, United States.
Lufkin is home to Angelina College. The city is around 17.3 miles away from Wells, Cherokee County, Texas.
In 2024, the Wells Independent School District hired Williams as a junior high and high school math teacher. While she was employed by the school district, she and McCary allegedly possessed child pornography and committed bestiality.
On February 22, 2025, Williams and McCary were arrested. She was booked into the Angelina County Jail in Lufkin.
Bond for McCary was set at $250,000. He was charged with possession of child pornography.
Williams was charged with bestiality and possession with intent to promote child pornography. Her bonds were set at $350,000.
On February 24, 2025, Williams resigned from her position at Wells ISD. A retired math teacher will step in and help teach her former students.
