‘Another Simple Favor’ star Blake Lively wears Renée Massoomian dress at SXSW 2025

“Another Simple Favor”

Written by Jessica Sharzer and Laeta Kalogridis based on characters created by Darcey Bell, “Another Simple Favor” is a black comedy mystery film about a murder that transpires at the extravagant wedding of Emily Nelson and an Italian businessman in Capri, Campania, Italy. Emily is played by Blake Lively.

Emily and Sean Townsend are the parents of Nicholas “Nicky” Townsend-Nelson. Sean and Nicky are played by Henry Golding and Ian Ho, respectively.

Another young character in the film is Miles Smothers played by Joshua Satine. Played by Anna Kendrick, the character’s mother Stephanie Smothers is an author who is friends with Emily.

Shot in Capri from March 2024 to May 2024, the film was edited by Brent White and it features music by Theodore Shapiro. Distributed by Amazon MGM Studios, it is a sequel to Feig’s 2018 film “A Simple Favor”, which starred Lively, Kendrick and Golding with Andrew Rannells, Jean Smart, Linda Cardellini and Rupert Friend.

In the sequel, Rannells reprises his role as Darren. In the 2018 film, the character injured Emily after hitting her with his car.

SXSW 2025

The 2025 edition of the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival started on March 7, 2025 in Austin, Texas, United States. It will end on March 15, 2025.

On March 7, 2025, “Another Simple Favor” made its world premiere at the SXSW 2025 at the Paramount Theatre in Austin. Lively, Kendrick, Golding and Satine attended the event with Paul Feig, who directed the film.

Lively wore a 1950s-inspired mauve Renée Massoomian dress with a full skirt. The designer is based in New York City, New York, USA.

Kendrick matcher a black LaQuan Smith bustier with satin tuxedo trousers and Bulgari jewelry. Golding wore a Belstaff jacket while Feig paired his cowboy hat with a jacket with fringe.

On May 1, 2025, Amazon Prime Video will release “Another Simple Favor”. Also in the cast are Alex Newell, Allison Janney, Aparna Nancherla, Bashir Salahuddin, Elena Sofia Ricci, Elizabeth Perkins, Jake Tapper, Kelly McCormack, Lorenzo de Moor, Michele Morrone and Taylor Ortega.
