Miranda Corsette of Gulfport, Pinellas County, Florida, United States has died. She was 16.

Gulfport has two public schools namely Gulfport Elementary School and Boca Ciega High School. The city is around 5 miles away from St. Petersburg, Pinellas County.

Both of Corsette’s parents are deceased. She was homeschooled and she lived in Gulfport with her grandmother, who was her primary caregiver.

Corsette was a frequent runaway and she had a history of drug abuse and mental health issues. She has one child, who was born in March 2024.

On February 14, 2025, Steven Gress, 35, of Gulfport contacted Corsette through a dating app and picked her up at her residence in Gulfport. They went to his residence, a duplex in St. Petersburg, then she went back to Gulfport before the day ended.

On February 15, 2025, Corsette went back to Gress’s residence in St. Petersburg. They stayed there with his domestic partner Michelle Ayleen Brandes, 36.

Both Gress and Brandes are facing first-degree murder charges in Corsette’s death. In addition, he is facing a kidnapping charge.

On February 20, 2025, Gress, Brandes and Corsette got into a dispute over missing jewelry. From that day to February 24, 2025, the couple allegedly tortured the teenager.

On February 24, 2025, Corsette’s grandmother went to the Gulfport Police Department to report the teenager missing. Authorities have yet to locate the teenager’s remains.

Gress allegedly put Corsette’s body in his car and drove to the residence of Brandes’s mother in Largo, Pinellas County and dismembered the body there. He and Brandes allegedly drove the corpse to Ruskin, Hillsborough County, Florida and dumped the remains in a dumpster.

On March 5, 2025, Gress was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and drug possession, which are not related to Corsette’s murder. He was accused of possessing drugs and pointing a harpoon at Brandes.

On March 6, 2025, a witness gave authorities a tip about the murder. On March 8, 2025, Brandes turned herself in.
