Jessie D. Kirk of Titusville, Brevard County, Florida, United States has died. She was 72.

Titusville was founded by Henry Theodore Titus, who was born in Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey, USA. On August 7, 1881, he died in Titusville at age 58.

In January 2018, David Armstrong Barber of West Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida joined the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office in Titusville as a corrections deputy. During his employment with the agency, he received no formal discipline.

In January 2022, Barber voluntarily resigned from the agency. On May 1, 2024, he turned 35.

In 2024, prosecutors filed cases against Barber for stalking and for attempted burglary of an occupied dwelling. He has an arrest record in both Brevard County and Orange County, Florida.

In December 2024, Barber allegedly turned up at the residence of his former girlfriend in Rockledge, Brevard County and placed electrical tape over her security camera lens. Authorities did not release the name of the girlfriend, who is Jessie and Robert William “Bob” Kirk Sr.‘s niece.

On March 5, 2025, Barber appeared in court and a judge denied him bond. He has yet to be charged with Jessie’s murder but he is currently the only person of interest in the case.

In the 1960s, Bob and Jessie started in the real estate industry in Titusville. In 1968, they established Kirk Realty.

In 1991, Bob married Jessie, who is originally from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 2014, they were both recognized with the Central Florida Humanitarian award.

On July 31, 2021, Bob turned 81. On June 11, 2022, he died of leukemia.

Between 9:00 p.m. on March 3, 2025 and 4:15 a.m. on March 4, 2025, Jessie’s white Lincoln Navigator sports utility vehicle is recorded on surveillance footage in Titusville. At 8:30 a.m., her niece called the Titusville Police Department to report a suspicious vehicle at her condo.

At 9:00 a.m., a friend reported Jessie missing. She did not show up for her usual morning walk along South Washington Avenue in Titusville, according to the friend.

At around 12:20 p.m., detectives saw Barber acting suspiciously near Jessie’s condo at the Somerset Riverfront Condo Association on South Washington Avenue. They noticed that he had recent, significant burns on his body and arrested him on charges of loitering, prowling and grand theft auto.

At 1:09 p.m., Jessie’s burned vehicle was found in Orange County. At 2:45 p.m., her remains were found near the area of Haulover Canal Bridge in Brevard County.

Thomas Ivory Williams III was born in Titusville. The city is around 40 miles away from Orlando, Orange County.

In 2015, Williams joined Orlando City Soccer Club, an Orlando-based club that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS). In March 2020, he signed an academy contract with the club’s United Soccer League‘s USL League One (USL1) affiliate Orlando City B.

On August 7, 2020, Williams made his Orlando City B debut. On June 15, 2021, he was signed to an MLS homegrown contract by Orlando City SC, guaranteed through 2024 with a club option in 2025.

Williams is 6’3″ tall. On August 15, 2024, he turned 20.

On January 22, 2025, Williams’ new contract with Orlando City SC through 2026 was announced. It has a club option for 2027.

Based in North Bethesda, Montgomery County, Maryland, USA, the Lockheed Martin Corporation announced on January 31, 2025 its plans to add up to 300 jobs in Titusville. After winning a U.S. Navy contract for the development of the next generation of the Trident II Strategic Weapons System D5 missile, the defense technology company will build in Titusville a 225,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility that will be ready for operations in 2027.
