Haslett attended school in Patoka, Marion County. Before his arrest in 2022, he spent years working as a union railroad employee. 

2022

  • In September 2022, he allegedly picked up a black woman, then 22, in Kansas City, offered her $350 to go home with him and held her against her will at his residence in Excelsior Springs where he repeatedly sexually assaulted her.
  • On October 7, 2022, while he took his son to school, the woman he allegedly held captive escaped and asked help from his neighbors. Later that day, he was arrested at his home and charged with first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping and second-degree assault. His bond was set at $500,000.
  • His bail reduction hearing was originally scheduled for October 18, 2022 but per his attorney’s request, it was postponed to November 8, 2022.

2023

  • In January 2023, police identified Crosdale as a potential witness in his case related to the woman he allegedly kidnapped in September 2022.
  • In March 2023, he was charged with kidnapping, endangering the welfare of a child, first-degree rape, two counts of second-degree assault and four counts of first-degree sodomy.
  • On June 24, 2023, kayakers found Crosdale’s skeletal remains inside a blue barrel in the Missouri River in Saline County, Missouri. She was 36. The barrel was of the same manufacturer as ones found at his residence in Excelsior Springs.

2024

  • On July 9, 2024, he was charged with first-degree murder.
  • On July 12, 2024, he appeared in court in Clay County and pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.

2025

  • On March 14, 2025, a testimony was provided in a closed court hearing in Clay County by the woman he allegedly kidnapped, sexually assaulted and held captive from September 2022 to October 2022.
  • On October 24, 2025, his pre-trial conference will start at the Clay County Courthouse in Liberty.
  • On December 1, 2025, his jury trial will start at the Clay County Courthouse, which Judge David Paul Chamberlain will preside over.
