2019

  • In June 2019, he legally purchased a GP WASR-10 semiautomatic rifle and 1,000 rounds of hollow-point ammunition online.
  • On June 27, 2019, his mother called the Allen Police Department because she was concerned about him owning an AK-type firearm.
  • Just before 10:40 a.m. on August 3, 2019, he opened fire at a Walmart store near the Cielo Vista Mall on the east side of El Paso, killing 23 people and wounding 23 others.
  • On September 12, 2019, a grand jury in Texas indicted him on capital murder charges.
