Arielle “Ari” Worthington Konig is an American nuclear engineer based on Maui in Maui County, Hawaii, United States. Before moving to Hawaii, Konig lived in other parts of the U.S. including Illinois, Iowa and Pennsylvania.

BIOGRAPHY

Konig’s husband Dr. Gerhardt Konig is an anesthesiologist. She is Kevin Worthington and Judith Worthington‘s daughter.

Born in 1989, Ari is 10 years younger than Gerhardt. They have two sons together.

Ari is a former resident of Burr Ridge, Illinois and Des Moines, Iowa and she has lived in different parts of Pennsylvania including Butler, Cranberry Township, McKeesport, Mount Lebanon, Pittsburgh, Seven Fields and State College. Here are 13 more things about her:

TIMELINE

After Gerhardt accused Arielle of having an affair in December 2024, they went to couples therapy. He suggested a weekend getaway for her 36th birthday, the day he allegedly tried to kill her.

2022

• In December 2022, she and Gerhardt bought a five-bedroom house in a cul-de-sac nestled in the foothills of the West Maui Mountains on Maui for $1.5 million.

2024

• In December 2024, Gerhardt accused her of having an affair, leading to “extreme jealousy”, she wrote in her restraining-order petition.

2025

• At around 10:00 a.m. on March 24, 2025, Gerhardt used a rock to strike her in the head about 10 times and tried to inject her with a syringe filled with an unknown liquid while they were hiking the Pali Puka Trail on Oahu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, she told police, according to court documents filed on March 27, 2025. At around 10:38 a.m., she managed to escape and ask help from two female hikers who called 911. He fled the area but was arrested shortly after 6:00 p.m. by Honolulu Police Department officers near Nuuanu Pali Drive in Honolulu, Honolulu County and booked into the Oahu Community Correctional Center in Honolulu.
• On March 27, 2025, Gerhardt made his initial appearance before Judge Kristine Yoo in Honolulu District Court on the charge of second-degree attempted murder of her. The judge set his bail at $5 million.
• In a temporary restraining order against Gerhardt, who was indicted on March 28, 2025, she claimed that he tried to control and monitor all of her communications months before he tried to kill her on her 36th birthday. She is represented by Brandon Segal.
