BIOGRAPHY

Thuzar is a Burmese activist, model and beauty queen also known as Candy Thuzar. Here are 13 more things about her:

  1. She was born in Yangon, Myanmar.
  2. She earned her bachelor’s degree in tourism and hospitality management from STAR University Myanmar in Yangon.
  3. From Yangon, she moved to Hakha, Chin State, Myanmar.
  4. After she underwent lumpectomy surgery to remove tumors from her breast, she started working with breast cancer awareness foundations to support patients and bring awareness to the cause. 
  5. In 2017, she visited Thailand.

  • In July 2017, she traveled to Chiang Mai, Thailand.

2018

  • In March 2018, she traveled to Bangkok, Thailand.

2019

  • In April 2019, she visited Kyaukkyi, Taungoo District, Bago Region, Myanmar.
  • In November 2019, she visited Nyaungshwe Township, Kalaw District, Shan State, Myanmar. 

2020

  • On December 30, 2020, she represented Hakha at Miss Universe Myanmar 2020 and competed against 34 other candidates at Novetel Max Hotel in Yangon. She won the title.

2021

  • On May 16, 2021, she represented Myanmar at Miss Universe 2020 and competed against 73 other candidates at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, USA. She finished in the Top 21 and won the Best National Costume award.
  • In August 2021, she moved to London and signed with Jake Egginton Management, a boutique scouting and placement agency based in the U.K.

2022

  • On October 1, 2022, she was not able to attend Miss Universe Myanmar 2022 at the Novotel Hotel in Yangon so her successor Zar Li Moe crowned herself.
  • In October 2022, she walked the runway at the London Fashion Week.
