Born in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, United States, Sarah Rose Summers turned 30 on November 4, 2024. She is Miss Nebraska Teen USA 2012, Miss Nebraska USA 2018 and Miss USA 2018.
Summers won Miss Nebraska USA 2018 on January 7, 2018 and Miss USA 2018 on May 21, 2018. On December 17, 2018, she represented the U.S. at Miss Universe 2018, competed against 93 other candidates and finished in the Top 20.

On August 4, 2024, Buchanan represented Nebraska at Miss USA 2024 and competed against 50 other candidates at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, USA. She was unplaced.
Miss Nebraska USA 2025
On April 6, 2025, Buchanan will crown her successor at The Garden Theater in Omaha. It is the 73rd edition of the state-level beauty pageant that selects Nebraska’s Miss USA candidate.
