Dixieana Brainard of Kentucky, United States has died. She was 20.

Born in Lexington, Kentucky to Daniel Ray Brainard and Amanda Brainard, Dixieana has a brother named Asa L. Brainard and three sisters namely Kayla B. Brainard, Aubrey L. Brainard and Trinity R. Brainard. Daniel is Robert Kelly Brainard and Virginia Ruth Rich Brainard‘s son.

Born in Pompano Beach, Florida, USA to Robert George Brainard and Mary Louise Keagan Brainard, Robert Kelly turned 61 on October 7, 2020 and died on June 21, 2021 at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington. Amanda is Marvin Frederick Jr. and Karen Faith Hardin‘s daughter.

Amanda’s grandfather Marvin Frederick Sr. turned 78 on October 23, 2020 and died on January 17, 2021. Born in Richmond, Kentucky, Hardin turned 57 on February 24, 2022 and died on October 2, 2022.

On April 15, 2018, Dixieana was baptized at Donaldson Road Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. She graduated from Bourbon County High School in Paris, Kentucky.

On September 29, 2024, Dixieana turned 20. She and Christopher L. Taulbee, 19, of Carlisle have a son named Kayce L. Brainard, who was born in December 2024.

Christopher Taulbee

On the morning of April 3, 2025, Dixieana and a man were killed in the 3900 block of Big Stoner Road in Winchester, Kentucky allegedly by Taulbee. The male victim, who has yet to be identified, was in a relationship with her, according to police.

Later that day, police found Taulbee naked with blood on his hands and chest in his car, which pulled to the side of the road on Counts Lane near US-60 in Olive Hill, Kentucky. The car had a flat tire and it had no driver’s side front door.

Taulbee was charged with possession of marijuana and several traffic violations. He allegedly shot Dixieanna in the forehead and stabbed her boyfriend in the throat and hit him with a baseball bat.

The male victim was still alive when Taulbee brought a witness, who was not identified by the police, to the scene of the crime. According to the witness, Taulbee repeatedly hit the male victim in the head with the bat.

According to police, the male victim was between the ages of 20 and 30. He was about 5′8″ tall and weighed around 160 pounds.

Bond for Taulbee was set at $2 million. He is being held at the Bourbon County Detention Center in Paris.

On April 9, 2025, Taulbee will be arraigned in Bourbon County Circuit Court in Paris. He was charged with two counts of murder.
