Robert Genst, 22, of Colchester, Chittenden County, Vermont, United States and Kenneth Glennon, 20, of Swanton, Franklin County, Vermont were recently arrested. Colchester is around 29.5 miles away from Swanton.
The Vermont National Guard is based in Colchester. The town is home to Saint Michael’s College, a private Catholic college, and Little Lakers Academy, a day care center.
Robert Genst
At around 2:45 p.m. on April 7, 2025, Genst allegedly chased a woman in the parking lot of Little Lakers Academy. He was allegedly carrying a gun.
The woman is a family member of Genst. The incident, which stemmed from a dispute between the two, happened during the day care center’s scheduled naptime.
Neither Genst nor the woman was connected to Little Lakers Academy. Once the employees of the day care center noticed what was happening in the parking lot, they called 911 and put the facility into lockdown.
Genst was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, aggravated domestic assault, criminal threatening and weapons possession while committing a felony. When he appeared in court on April 8, 2025, he pleaded not guilty to all charges.
On April 16, 2025, Genst will be back in court. He is being held at the Northwest State Correctional Facility in Swanton without bail.
Kenneth Glennon
Glennon is accused of luring a girl, 13. He was also found in possession of child sex abuse material (CSAM), according to the Vermont State Police, which is based in Waterbury, Washington County, Vermont.
On March 26, 2025, the Northwest Unit for Special Investigations started investigating Glennon. The nonprofit organization is based in St. Albans, Franklin County.
On April 10, 2025, Vermont State Police troopers arrested Glennon. He has been released on citation.
At 8:30 a.m. on May 27, 2025, Glennon will appear at Vermont Superior Court – Franklin Criminal Division in St. Albans. He was charged with luring a child and possession of CSAM.
