Brandon Alvarado Gaspar of Walhalla, Oconee County, South Carolina, United States has died. He was 24.

At around 5:30 a.m. on April 13, 2025, emergency personnel responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 200 block of Snead Road in Walhalla. Paramedics and Oconee County Sheriff’s Office deputies found Alvarado dead inside the residence.
Alvarado had gunshot wounds. He was repeatedly shot in the torso allegedly by Caleb Aguirre, 23, of Walhalla.
At around 6:05 a.m., Aguirre was found with a family member on Thompson Road in Walhalla. An investigator arrested the suspect.
At 8:31 a.m., Aguirre was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center in Walhalla. His bond has yet to be set.
Originally, Aguirre was taken into custody on a temporary custody. Later that day, investigators charged him with murder.
An autopsy is scheduled for April 14, 2025. A motive for the shooting is being investigated by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, which is based in Walhalla.

Michael “Mike” Crenshaw, 60, of Walhalla is the incumbent sheriff of Oconee County. He was been in office since 2013 and was elected on November 5, 2024.
Crenshaw is a Republican. He attended Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina, which is around 16 miles away from Walhalla.
Neofuturistic architect and real estate developer John Calvin Portman Jr. was born in Walhalla. He turned 93 on December 4, 2017 and died in Atlanta, Georgia, USA on December 29, 2017.
Also a Walhalla native is Wayne Maurice Keown, a professional wrestler known by his ring name Dutch Mantel. He turned 75 on November 29, 2024.
Tim Hall, 65, is the incumbent mayor of the city. On January 21, 2025, the city’s councilman Josh Holliday, 46, was chosen by a vote of his colleagues to act as mayor pro-tem.
