Rhonda Shannon Cox, 36, was on an outstanding felony warrant issued out of Berkeley County, West Virginia, United States. The county is located in the Shenandoah Valley in the eastern panhandle region of the state.

In November 2022, Cox allegedly abused a child in Berkeley County, which resulted in injury. Authorities did not release details about her relationship with the child.
In September 2024, the warrant for Cox’s arrest was referred to the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) of the U.S. Marshals Service. The task force is based in Washington, D.C., USA, which is around 21 miles away from Prince George’s County, Maryland, USA.
As soon as investigators from the CARFTF received the case, they developed information Cox had fled Berkeley County. The investigators found out she had moved to Maryland.
On April 25, 2025, the task force received additional information, which led officers to the WoodSpring Suites, an extended stay hotel in Camp Springs, Prince George’s County. They located Cox at the hotel and arrested her without incident.
Cox was booked into the Prince George’s County Jail in Upper Marlboro, Prince George’s County. She was charged as a fugitive from justice.
Authorities have yet to release Cox’s mugshots. She will be extradited back to West Virginia.
