Christina Gates Thagard, 40, of Ocala, Marion County, Florida, United States is a former Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy. The dates of her employment with the agency have yet to be confirmed.
Aside from Ocala, Thagard has lived in other parts of Florida including Dunnellon, Miami and Port Saint Joe. She attended Central Florida Community College in Ocala and Saint Leo University and Saint Leo, Pasco County, Florida and completed a commercial driver’s license program at FleetForce Truck Driver Training in Bradenton, Manatee County, Florida.

At 10:41 a.m. on May 3, 2025, Thagard allegedly entered TD Bank at 2437 Southwest 17th Street in Ocala wearing a Jack Skellington hoodie with the hood up and a medical glove on her left hand. She allegedly approached the teller counter and placed a note on the counter.
“This is a Robbery,” the note read. “I have a gun and will shoot if any alarms or dye packs are inclosed. Fill this bag with at least 50k. Big bills only. Wait 2 mins to call Police.”
With over $5,000, Thagard allegedly fled the scene. Ocala Police Department officers responded and found her at 10:52 a.m.
The officers arrested Thagard while she was driving westbound on Southwest College Road near the College of Central Florida in Ocala. They found in her car evidence tying her to the robbery, including her clothing, the medical glove and the stolen money.
When the officers questioned Thagard, she denied being the person in the bank surveillance footage. At around 11:00 a.m., she was booked into the Marion County Jail in Ocala.
Thagard, who is being held without bond, was charged with robbery with a firearm. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has yet to release a statement about her arrest.
On May 29, 2025, Thagard will turn 41. She is also known as Christina Peacock.
