Angeles is geographically located in Pampanga, Philippines but the city is independent from the province. The city is around 17 kilometers away from San Fernando, the capital of the province.
Mabalacat and San Fernando are component cities of Pampanga. The province has 19 municipalities namely Apalit, Arayat, Bacolor, Candaba, Floridablanca, Guagua, Lubao, Macabebe, Magalang, Masantol, Mexico, Minalin, Porac, San Luis, San Simon, Santa Ana, Santa Rita, Santo Tomas and Sasmuan.
Pampanga has four legislative districts. The first district consists of Angeles, Mabalacat and Magalang.
The Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone covers portions of Angeles, Mabalacat and Porac as well as Bamban and Capas, which are municipalities of Tarlac, Philippines. The Clark International Airport is located in Angeles and Mabalacat.
