Bataan is one of the seven provinces of the Central Luzon region of the Philippines. The others are Aurora, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac and Zambales.
Balanga is the only component city of Bataan, which has 11 municipalities namely Abucay, Bagac, Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Limay, Mariveles, Morong, Orani, Orion, Pilar and Samal. The province has a total of 237 barangays, 25 of which are in Balanga, the capital of the province.
2025 Bataan election results
On May 12, 2025, Bataan elected its new congressmen, governor, vice governor and provincial board members. The province has three legislative districts.

On June 9, 2019, Bea Patricia Magtanong represented Bataan at Binibining Pilipinas 2019 and competed against 39 other candidates at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. She ranked second and was crowned Bb. Pilipinas International 2019.
On September 21, 2019, Tomas “Tommy” Peñaflor II represented Bataan at Misters of Filipinas 2019 and competed against 21 other candidates at the Fill Oil Flying V Center in San Juan City, Metro Manila. He ranked first and was crowned Man of the World Philippines 2019.
On July 31, 2022, Annalena “Anna” Valencia Lakrini represented Bataan at Bb. Pilipinas 2022, competed against 39 other candidates at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and the finished in the Top 12. On May 28, 2023, she represented the province at Bb. Pilipinas 2023, competed against 39 other candidates at the same venue, ranked second and was crowned Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2023.
