2025 Batanes congressmen, governor, vice governor, board members elected

Batanes is one of the five provinces of the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines. The others are Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino.

Founded on June 26, 1783, Batanes has six municipalities namely Basco, Itbayat, Ivana, Mahatao, Sabtang and Uyugan. The municipalities collectively have 29 barangays, six of which are in Basco, the capital of the province.

Born in Itbayat, Marilou Horlina Cayco assumed office as the governor of Batanes on June 30, 2016. Her third term will end on June 30, 2025.

Cayco is an alumna of Arellano University in Sampaloc, Manila, Metro Manila, Philippines. She turned 64 on November 22, 2024.

On May 12, 2025, Batanes elected its new congressman, governor, vice governor and provincial board members. The province has two provincial districts.

On April 15, 2012, Liezl Alcantara represented Batanes at Binibining Pilipinas 2012 and competed against 29 other candidates at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila. She was unplaced.

On October 25, 2020, Jan Alexis Elcano represented Batanes at Miss Universe Philippines 2020 and competed against 45 other candidates at the Cordillera Convention Hall of Baguio Country Club in Baguio, Philippines. She was unplaced.

On April 30, 2022, Elsa Sally Schumacher represented Batanes at Miss Universe Philippines 2022 and competed against 30 other candidates at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila. She was unplaced.
