Bohol, Philippines is known for the Chocolate Hills, a geological formation with more than 1,200 hills made of grass-covered limestone. The province is home to Miss Supranational 2023 first runner-up Pauline Amelinckx.
Every July, the Sandugo Festival is celebrated in Tagbilaran, Bohol. It commemorates the blood compact between Boholano chieftain Datu Sikatuna and Spanish conquistador Miguel López de Legazpi on the Spanish boat San Pedro in Loay, Bohol on March 25, 1565.

Born in Talibon, Bohol, Carlos Polestico Garcia served as the 10th governor of the province from December 30, 1933 to December 30, 1941 and a senator of the Philippines from May 25, 1945 to December 30, 1953. He was the country’s vice president from December 30, 1953 to March 18, 1957 and president from March 18, 1957 to December 30, 1961.
On November 4, 1970, Garcia turned 74. On June 14, 1971, he died in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
On May 2, 2025, Tyra Rae Goldman represented Bohol at Miss Universe Philippines 2025 and competed against 65 other candidates at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila. She finished in the Top 12.
