Davao del Norte is one of the five provinces in the Davao Region of the Philippines. The others are Davao de Oro, Davao del Sur, Davao Occidental and Davao Oriental.
Founded on May 8, 1967, Davao del Norte has three component cities namely Panabo, Samal and Tagum and eight municipalities namely Asuncion, Braulio E. Dujali, Carmen, Kapalong, New Corelia, Sawata, Santo Tomas and Talaingod. The province has a total of 223 barangays, 23 of which are in Tagum, the capital of the province.

On April 30, 2022, Jeanne Nicci Orcena represented Davao del Norte at Miss Universe Philippines 2022 and competed against 30 other candidates at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. She was unplaced.
On May 6, 2023, Johannes Rissler represented Davao del Norte at Mister Pilipinas Worldwide 2023 and competed against 19 other candidates at the Cove Manila of Okada Manila in Parañaque City, Metro Manila. He ranked first and was crowned Mister Supranational Philippines 2023.
