Ifugao, Philippines has 11 municipalities namely Aguinaldo, Alfonso Lista, Asipulo, Banaue, Hingyon, Hungduan, Kiangan, Lagawe, Lamut, Mayoyao and Tinoc. Banaue native Jerry Uyami Dalipog was elected as the governor of the province in 2019 and reelected in 2025.

In 1995, the Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras were inscribed on the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The inscription has five sites, two of which are in Banaue and three are in Hungduan, Kiangan and Mayoyao.

On May 11, 2008, Iris Michelle Dulawan represented Ifugao at Miss Philippines Earth 2008 and competed against 40 other candidates at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. She was unplaced.

On May 27, 2012, Alvy Faith Pel-Ey represented Ifugao at Miss Philippines Earth 2012 and competed against 46 other candidates at the Center Stage of the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, Metro Manila. She was unplaced.

On May 2, 2025, Valerie Claire Pawid West represented Ifugao at Miss Universe Philippines 2025 and competed against 65 other candidates at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. She finished in the Top 24.
