Jeremias “Jerry” Crisologo Singson was born in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines to Jose Sebastian Singson and Caridad Singson Crisologo. Jerry has seven siblings namely Evaristo “Titong” Singson, Luis “Chavit” Singson, Bernardo “Dodie” Singson, Fernando “Dodoy” Singson, Ma. Livia “Honey Girl” Singson, Germelina “Germie” Singson and Jose “Bonito” Singson Jr.
Jerry was a member of the provincial board of Ilocos Sur from the province’s first district from 1995 to 2001 and from 2004 to 2007. He was the vice governor of the province from 2001 to 2004, from 2007 to 2010 and from 2016 to 2022.
On September 15, 2024, Jerry turned 76. He was elected as the governor of Ilocos Sur in 2022 and was reelected in 2025.

On June 28, 2023, Shadi Dicang Khalil represented Ilocos Sur at Mister International Philippines 2023 and competed against 53 other candidates at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of the Newport World Resorts in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. He finished in the Top 25.
On May 2, 2025, Jeanne Nicole Lipa represented Ilocos Sur and the Filipino community of Washington, United States at Miss Universe Philippines 2025 and competed against 65 other candidates at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. She was unplaced.
