Navotas, Metro Manila, Philippines has the third largest fish port in Asia. The city is home to Restituto B. Tiangco and Erlinda B. Marcelo Tiangco and their sons Tobias Reynald “Toby” Marcelo Tiangco and John Reynald Marcelo Tiangco.
Toby was the vice mayor of Navotas from 1999 to 2000 and the mayor of the city from 1998 to 1999, from 2000 to 2010 and from 2019 to 2022. He has been the congressman of the city since June 30, 2022.
John was the congressman of Navotas from 2019 to 2022. Since June 30, 2022, he has been the mayor of the city, a position he also held from 2010 to 2019.

On March 19, 2005, Wendy Manalus Valdez represented Navotas at Binibining Pilipinas 2005 and competed against 22 other candidates at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila. She ranked fourth and was crowned Bb. Pilipinas Tourism 2005.
On August 4, 2017, Jannie Loudette Alipo-on represented Navotas at Mutya ng Pilipinas 2017 and competed against 29 other candidates at Resorts World Manila in Pasay City, Metro Manila. She ranked second and was crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism International 2017.
On December 6, 2017, Alipo-on represented the Philippines at Miss Tourism International 2017 and competed against 48 other candidates at the Sunway Resort in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. She won the title.
On September 16, 2018, Kristine Micah Malicsi represented Navotas at Mutya ng Pilipinas 2018 and competed against 49 other candidates at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. She ranked seventh and was named the second runner-up.
