Ramon “Mon-Mon” Velicaria Guico III was elected the governor of Pangasinan, Philippines in 2022 and reelected in 2025. The province is a major producer of salt in the country.
Guico was born in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. On March 19, 2025, he turned 50.

On May 12, 2025, Pangasinan elected its new congressmen, governor, vice governor and provincial board members. The province has 44 municipalities and three component cities namely Alaminos, San Carlos and Urdaneta.
Dagupan is geographically located in Pangasinan but is independent from the province. However, the city is represented by the congressman of the fourth district of the province.

On September 29, 2024, Jenesse Viktoria Mejia represented Pangasinan at Miss Grand Philippines 2024 and competed against 19 other candidates at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City. She finished in the Top 10.
On May 2, 2025, Andrea Cayabyab represented Pangasinan at Miss Universe Philippines 2025 and competed against 65 other candidates at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila. She was unplaced.
