Cuba currently has three Miss Universe placements. The first two are the Top 15 finish of Maria Rodriguez Echevarria in 1956 and the third runner-up finish of Maria Rosa Gamio Fernandez in 1957.
Miss Universe Cuba
Cuba was represented in Miss Universe by Miss Cuba in 1952, from 1954 to 1958, from 1959 to 1963 and from 1965 to 1967. In 2024, Prince Julio Cesar became the national director of Miss Universe Cuba.
2024 winner
On September 26, 2024, Marianela Ancheta represented Region Central at Miss Universe Cuba 2024 in Miami, Florida, United States, competed against 23 other candidates and won the title. The respective first and second runners-up were La Habana’s Alina Robert and Granma’s Maylin Hernandez.
On November 16, 2024, Ancheta represented Cuba at Miss Universe 2024 and competed against 124 other candidates at the Arena Ciudad de México in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City. She finished in the Top 30.
On March 9, 2025, Ancheta served as a judge at Miss Global 2024 at The Mall Lifestore Ngamwongwan in Bang Khen, Mueang Nonthaburi District, Nonthaburi, Thailand. On March 10, 2025, she turned 32.
2025 candidates
On July 8, 2025, Ancheta will crown her successor at the Milander Park in Hialeah, Florida. It is the second edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Cuba’s Miss Universe candidate.
