Aaron Fredrick “AJ” Mitchell Jr. is a native of Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois, United States. The city is home to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows.

There are four high schools within Belleville namely Althoff Catholic High School, Belleville High School-East, Belleville High School-West and Governor French Academy. Southwestern Illinois College has a campus in the city.
