Maria Nyamai Wavinya represented Kenya in the 69th edition of Miss World. It was won by Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica.

Wavinya is the eighth Kenyan beauty queen to place in Miss World. The first seven are Khadija Adam Ismail, Yolanda Masinde, Natasha Metto, Shamim Fauz Ali, Idah Nguma, Evelyn Njambi Thungu and Magline Jeruto.
