The alleged conduct happened after school hours and did not happen at a school facility, according to the Calera Police Department. While the matter was investigated by law enforcement, she was put on leave for the remainder of the school year.
Bond for Ozment was set at $45,000. A grand jury in Shelby County indicted her on first-degree sexual abuse, second-degree sexual abuse and enticing a child to enter vehicle or house for immoral purposes.
On June 6, 2025, Ozment was booked into the Shelby County Jail in Columbiana. She was released on the same day.
