Victoria Velasquez Vincent is an alumna of the University of Auckland in Auckland, New Zealand. She was born in Auckland to an Irish father and a Filipino mother.

On September 29, 2024, Vincent competed against 15 other Miss Universe New Zealand 2024 candidates at the Dorothy Winstone Centre Performing Arts Centre in Auckland and won the title. Gazelle Garcia and Inge Carolus were the respective first and second runners-up.

Currently, New Zealand has five Miss Universe placements including the coronation of Lorraine Downes in 1983. The most recent one was in 1992 when Lisa Maree de Montalk finished in the Top 10.

New Zealand was represented in Miss Universe in 1954, in 1957, from 1960 to 1974, from 1975 to 1978, from 1979 to 1989, from 1992 to 2001, in 2003, from 2006 to 2012 and from 2013 to 2019. In 2024, Maria Siayngco became the new Miss Universe New Zealand national director.
