Ilda Amani Dorcas of Bukavu, South Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo is an alumna of Multitech Business School and the International University of East Africa, which are both in Kampala, Uganda. In 2017, she made her runway debut in Kampala.

On August 29, 2024, Amani competed against 20 other Miss Universe DR Congo 2024 candidates at the Pullman Grand Hotel in Kinshasa, DR Congo and won the title. On May 15, 2025, she turned 27.

Miss Universe DR Congo 2025 contestants

On August 22, 2025, Amani will crown her successor at the Centre Culturel et Artistique de Kinshasa in Kinshasa. It is the second edition of the national beauty pageant that selects the DR Congo’s Miss Universe candidate.

The DR Congo, also known as Congo-Kinshasa, was officially called Zaire from 1971 to 1997. The country was represented in Miss Universe from 1968 to 1972, from 1984 to 1986 and in 2024 and currently has two placements in the international beauty pageant.

Elizabeth Tavares, Jeanne Mokomo, Marie-Josee Basoko and Martine Mualuke competed in Miss Universe in 1968, 1969, 1970 and 1971, respectively, as Miss Universe Congo-Kinshasa. They were all unplaced.

Ombayi Mukuta, Lokange Lwali, Benita Murekatete and Aimée Dobala competed in Miss Universe in 1972, 1984, 1985 and 1986 as Miss Universe Zaire. Both Mukuta and Lwali were unplaced while Murekatete was the second runner-up and Dobala finished in the Top 10.

On November 16, 2024, Amani represented the DR Congo at Miss Universe 2024 and competed against 124 other candidates at the Arena Ciudad de México (Arena CDMX) in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, Mexico. She was unplaced.
