Tim Walz assumed office as the 41st governor of Minnesota on January 7, 2019. One of his critics is U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) assistant secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
“These pedophiles and sex offenders are the sickos our brave ICE law enforcement are putting their lives on the line to arrest and remove from American communities,” McLaughlin stated. “Governor Walz and his fellow sanctuary politicians are fighting to keep these sex offenders and other criminal illegal aliens in our country. Instead of comparing ICE to the Nazi-Gestapo, Governor Walz should be thanking our law enforcement for removing these pedophiles from Minnesota.”
Since March 9, 2025, Todd M. Lyons has been the acting director of the ICE, an agency under the DHS. On January 25, 2025, Kristi Noem assumed office as the eighth DHS secretary.
