Kaya Chakrabortty (チャクラボルティ雅) is an emergency medical technician and a figure skater who attended Bloomfield Hills High School in Bloomfield Township, Michigan, United States and Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. She was born in Kobe, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan to a Bangladeshi father and a Japanese mother.

On July 25, 2024, Chakrabortty competed against 35 other Miss Universe Japan 2024 candidates at Yamano Hall in Tokyo and won the title. On July 16, 2025, she crowned her successor Kaori Hashimoto in Shibuya, Tokyo.

Hiroko Mima has been the national director of Miss Universe Japan since 2018. Currently, Japan has 21 Miss Universe placements, including the coronation of Akiko Kojima in 1959 and Riyo Mori in 2007.

On July 14, 2008, Mima represented Japan at Miss Universe 2008 and competed against 79 other candidates at the Crown Convention Center in Nha Trang, Vietnam. She finished in the Top 15.

On November 16, 2024, Chakrabortty represented Japan at Miss Universe 2024 and competed against 124 other candidates at the Arena Ciudad de México (Arena CDMX) in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City. She finished in the Top 30.
