Santo Tomas, Nicaragua native Geyssell Lined García Navarrete was appointed Miss Universe Nicaragua 2024 on September 12, 2024. She crowned by Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios in Mexico City, Mexico on October 1, 2024.

On November 16, 2024, Garcia represented Nicaragua at Miss Universe 2024, competed against 124 other candidates at the Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, Mexico and finished in the Top 30. On February 5, 2025, she turned 30.

Miss Universe Nicaragua 2025 contestants

On September 4, 2025, Garcia will crown her successor at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, Florida, United States. It is the inaugural edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Nicaragua’s Miss Universe candidate under Indiana Sanchez‘s directorship.

On July 17, 2025, the 16 official Miss Universe Nicaragua 2025 candidates were introduced at El Guacalito Restaurant in Miami. Here are their names and the places they are representing:

Currently, Nicaragua has five Miss Universe placements including the coronation of Palacios in 2023. The most recent one was the Top 30 finish of Garcia in 2024.

Nicaragua was represented in Miss Universe by Miss Nicaragua in 1955, in 1963, from 1968 to 1971, from 1973 to 1979, from 1991 to 1993, from 1995 to 1996, from 1998 to 1999 and from 2001 to 2023. The country did not participate in the international beauty pageant from 1956 to 1962, from 1964 to 1967, in 1972, from 1980 to 1990, in 1994, in 1997 and in 2000.

Sanchez was unplaced when she represented Nicaragua at Miss Universe 2009 on August 23, 2009. On May 11, 2025, the Miss Universe Organization announced that Emporium Agency is Nicaragua’s official license holder of Miss Universe with Sanchez as the national director.
