The Dominican Republic currently has 13 Miss Universe placements including the coronation of Amelia Vega in 2003. The most recent one was in 2024 when Celinee Santos Frias finished in the Top 30.

Miss Republica Dominicana 2025 contestants

On August 10, 2025, Santos will crown her successor at the Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. It is the 69th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects the country’s Miss Universe candidate.

There are 29 women competing for the Miss Republica Dominicana 2025 title. Here are the candidates:

Miss Republica Dominicana 2024

On May 5, 2024, Santos represented Distrito Nacional at Miss Republica Dominicana 2024 at the Centro de Convenciones Sambil in Sto. Domingo and won the title. She competed against 17 other candidates including Mariela Mota of Sto. Domingo Oeste and Miyuki Cruz, who represented Japan’s Dominican community.

First runner-up Melissa Nuñez, who represented the United States’ Dominican community, was crowned Miss International Dominican Republic 2024 but was later replaced by Cruz. Second runner-up Haidy Cruz of Monte Cristi was crowned Reina Hispanoamericana Republica Dominicana 2024 but was later replaced by Mota.

On November 12, 2024, Miyuki represented the Dominican Republic at Miss International 2024 and competed against 70 other candidates at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan. She finished in the Top 20.

On November 16, 2024, Santos represented the Dominican Republic at Miss Universe 2024 and competed against 124 other candidates at the Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, Mexico. She finished in the Top 30.

On February 9, 2025, Mota represented the Dominican Republic at Reina Hispanoamericana 2025 and competed against 24 other candidates at the Salón Sirionó of Fexpocruz in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. She was unplaced.
