Emilia Ignacia Dides Maffei is an alumna of the Escuela Moderna de Música y Danza and Academia Alicia Puccio, which are both in Vitacura, Santiago, Chile. She also went to the Universidad Mayor in Providencia, Chile and Jackie Arredondo’s Music World in Miami, Florida, United States.

On July 7, 2024, Dides represented Vitacura at Miss Universo Chile 2024 and competed against 24 other candidates at the Teatro Centro de Extensión Instituto Nacional (CEINA) in Santiago. She won the title.

Runner-up to Dides was Francisca Lavandero of Los Angeles. The respective second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth runners-up were Ariel Cordero of San Felipe, Javiera Israel of La Dehesa, Ignacia Fernández of Los Dominicos, Beatriz Vasquez of Las Condes and Camilla Alan of Cajon del Maipo.

Miss Universo Chile 2025

On July 25, 2025, Dides will host the Miss Universo Chile 2025 semifinals at the Studio 1 of Canal 13 in Santiago, Chile with Martin Cárcamo. Out of the 25 semifinalists, only 20 finalists will be selected to battle it out during the coronation ceremony at the same venue on August 1, 2025.

This is the 62nd edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Chile’s Miss Universe candidate. If facial beauty is the only criterion, these will be my Top 5 candidates:

Chile currently has 15 Miss Universe placements including the coronation of Cecilia Bolocco Fonck in 1987. The most recent one was in 2024.

On November 16, 2024, Dides represented Chile at Miss Universe 2024 and competed against 124 other candidates at the  Arena Ciudad de México (Arena CDMX) in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, Mexico. She finished in the Top 12.
