Dakarin Arnett, 23, of Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, United States has been arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service. Other reports spell his name as Dakarian.

Arnett is accused of killing Jerald Preston Holiday Jr., who was found unresponsive at the intersection of Kaye Road and White Station in Memphis on September 23, 2018. The victim had multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Holiday was 20. He and Arnett knew each other.

Hours before Holiday died, he met Arnett to sell a firearm. After shooting Holiday, Arnett stole the victim’s vehicle.

Blood was inside the vehicle when it was recovered on September 24, 2018, several blocks away from where Holiday was shot. In April 2019, Arnett was arrested.

Authorities did not release details about why and when Arnett was released after the arrest. On December 17, 2020, he was indicted on charges of first-degree murder and murder in the perpetration of a robbery.

On March 16, 2022, the Memphis Police Department issued a warrant for Arnett’s arrest. He also had previous outstanding warrants for aggravated assault and domestic assault.

On June 14, 2025, Arnett turned 23. On July 24, 2025, the Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF) of the U.S. Marshals in Memphis learned that Arnett was at a residence in the 1800 block of Wessex in Memphis.

Deputy marshals and task force officers went to the residence with the tactical apprehensive and containment team (TACT) unit of the Memphis Police Department. They found Arnett and took him into custody without incident.

Arnett is 5’9″ tall. His registered weight is 255 pounds.
