Mara Štefica Topić Verduga represented the Ecuadorian community of the United States at Miss Universe Ecuador 2024 on June 8, 2024. She competed against 24 other candidates at the Parque Zoila Ugarte de Landívar in Machala, El Oro, Ecuador and won the title.
Runner-up to Topic was Nadia Grace Mejía, who represented the Ecuadorian community of the United States. Miss Earth 2016 Katherine Espin of Cañar was the second runner-up.
On July 26, 2025, Topic crowned Mejia as her successor at the Palacio de Cristal in Guayaquil, Ecuador. On November 21, 2025, the latter will represent the country at Miss Universe 2025 at the Impact Challenger Hall in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, Thailand.
