Gypsy Rose Pitre Blanchard was born in Golden Meadow, Louisiana, United States to Rod Blanchard and Clauddine “Dee Dee” Pitre Blanchard. Shortly after Gypsy was born, Rod and Dee Dee separated.
Dee Dee is Claude Anthony Pitre Sr. and Emma Lois Gisclair Pitre‘s daughter. When Dee Dee was young, she experienced abuse at the hands of Emma, who is Antoine Jackson Gisclair and Alcida Doucet Gisclair‘s daughter.

BIOGRAPHY
When Gypsy was young, she and Dee Dee made many Make A Wish trips to Disney with support and donations from donors. Habitat for Humanity made a house for them in Springfield, Greene County, Missouri, USA.

- She underwent several invasive and painful procedures that she did not really need after Dee Dee convinced her and her doctors that Gypsy had epilepsy, leukemia, muscular dystrophy and other severe illnesses.

- She spent the first 24 years of her life being infantilized by Dee Dee, who suffered from factitious disorder imposed on another (FDIA) also known as Munchausen by proxy.
- In 1999, her mother falsely claimed that she was suffering from leukemia and muscular dystrophy and said she required a wheelchair and feeding tube.
- After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, she and Dee Dee relocated from Louisiana to Missouri where neurologist Bernardo Flasterstein suspected that she was a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy at the hands of Dee but did not report the case to social services so Dee Dee stopped taking her to Flasterstein.
- In 2009, a male doctor alerted authorities when he could not find any symptoms that support what Dee Dee alleged to be wrong with her.
- In 2011, she tried to run away to be with an older man she met at a sci-fi convention but Dee Dee eventually caught up with her and as a punishment, Dee Dee chained her to her bed, destroyed her phone and computer, put bells on the doors and threatened to smash her fingers with a hammer if she tried to escape again.

- In 2025, she and Godejohn were arrested after he killed her mother.
- In 2017, Ken Urker started writing to her while she was in prison.

TIMELINE
Gypsy is 4’11” tall. When she was a teenager, she wanted to do things girls her age normally enjoyed such as going out with boys and putting on makeup but Dee Dee was strictly against it.
2010s
- On October 9, 2012, she met Godejohn on the Christian dating site ChristianDatingForFree.com.
- In October 2014, she told her neighbor Aleah Woodmansee that she was still able to secretly access her computer and set up a private Facebook account using the name Emma Rose. She told her in a Facebook chat, “This is my personal account my mom is still overprotective so she don’t know about this account.”
- On June 9, 2015, Godejohn, her then boyfriend, stabbed her mother to death in their house in Springfield at her instructions.
- On June 14, 2015, her mother’s body was found.
- On June 16, 2015, she and Godejon were arrested and booked into the Waukesha County Jail in Waukesha, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, USA before they were extradited back to Missouri. She was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the killing of her mother.
- On July 5, 2016, she agreed to plead guilty to second-degree murder in exchange for a 10-year sentence at the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Chillicothe, Livingston County, Missouri.
