Ashley Callingbull Rabbit was born to Cree parents in Enoch Cree Nation near Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Her second husband Wacey Rabbit was born in Lethbridge, Alberta.
On July 27, 2024, Ashley competed against 62 other Miss Universe Canada 2024 candidates at the Capitol Theatre in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She won the title.
Runner-up to Ashley was Raika Coutinho of Kelowna. The respective second, third and fourth runners-up were Aly Lozoff of Montreal, Khadija Omar of Toronto and Olga Bykadorova of Montreal.
Miss Universe Canada 2025
On August 9, 2025, Ashley will crown her successor at the St. Clair College Chrysler Theatre in Windsor. It is the 23rd edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Canada’s Miss Universe candidate.

Canada was represented in Miss Universe by Miss Toronto in 1952, Silknit Limited‘s appointed candidate from 1952 to 1958, Miss Dominion of Canada from 1959 to 1977, Miss Canada from 1978 to 1992 and Miss Canadian Universe from 1993 to 2002. The inaugural edition of Miss Universe Canada was held in 2003.
Currently, Canada has 21 Miss Universe placements including the coronation of Karen Dianne Baldwin in 1982 and Natalie Glebova in 2005. On November 16, 2024, Ashley represented Canada at Miss Universe 2024, competed against 124 other candidates at the Arena Ciudad de México (Arena CDMX) in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, Mexico and finished in the Top 12.
