Judith Peter Ngusa of Lindi, Tanzania has a bachelor’s degree in Chinese language. She is the first mother to represent the country in Miss Universe.

As an activist and a mother, Ngusa promotes postpartum health. On October 18, 2024, she competed against 12 other Miss Universe Tanzania 2024 finalists and won the title.

Miss Universe Tanzania 2025

On August 10, 2025, Ngusa turned 27. On August 23, 2025, she will crown her successor at The Super Dome TZ Masaki in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, which marks the 14th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Tanzania’s Miss Universe candidate.

Zozibini Tunzi will host the coronation ceremony. On December 8, 2019, she represented South Africa at Miss Universe 2019, competed against 89 other candidates at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, United States and won the title.

Tanzania was represented in Miss Universe from 2007 to 2017 and in 2019. Maria Sarungi Tsehai was the Miss Universe Tanzania national director from 2007 to 2019 and was replaced by Erasto Gideon Chipungahelo in 2024 and Millen Happiness Magese in 2025.

Currently, Tanzania has one Miss Universe placement. On May 28, 2007, Flavia Matata represented the country at Miss Universe 2007, competed against 76 other candidates at the National Auditorium in Mexico City, Mexico and finished in the Top 10.

On November 16, 2024, Ngusa represented Tanzania at Miss Universe 2024 and competed against 124 other candidates at the Arena Ciudad de México (Arena CDMX) in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City. She was unplaced.
