Jennifer Colón Alvarado was born in Hartford, Connecticut, United States to Puerto Rican parents and raised in Orocovis, Puerto Rico. She attended the Colegio Bautista de Levittown in Levittown, Toa Baja, Puerto Rico and the Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
On June 27, 2024, Colon represented Orocovis at Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2024 and competed against 27 other candidates at the Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré in Santurce, San Juan. She won the title.
Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2025
On August 14, 2025, Colon will crown her successor Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2025 at the Sala de Festivales Antonio Paoli of the Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré in Santurce. It is the 17th edition of the beauty pageant that selects Puerto Rico’s Miss Universe candidate.
There are 23 women competing for the Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2025 crown. If facial beauty is the only criterion, these will be my Top 5 candidates:

Puerto Rico was represented in Miss Universe by the winner of Miss Puerto Rico from 1952 to 1998 and Miss Puerto Rico Universe from 1999 to 2002. The inaugural Miss Universe Puerto Rico was held in 2009.
Currently, Puerto Rico has 27 Miss Universe placements including the coronation of Marisol Malaret Contreras in 1970, Deborah Fátima Carthy-Deu in 1985, Dayanara Torres in 1993, Denise Marie Quiñones August in 2001 and Zuleyka Jerrís Rivera Mendoza in 2006. The most recent one was achieved by Colon.
On November 16, 2024, Colon represented Puerto Rico at Miss Universe 2024 and competed against 124 other candidates at the Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, Mexico. She finished in the Top 12.
