Joanne Josephine Rhodes (姚祖恩) is an alumna of Maryknoll Convent School in Kowloon Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong, China and the University of Hong Kong in Pok Fu Lam, Hong Kong. She attended the Gemological Institute of America in Carlsbad, California, United States in 2020 and entered the University College London in London, England, United Kingdom in 2022.
On September 26, 2024, Rhodes competed against 15 other Miss Universe Hong Kong 2024 candidates at AXA Dreamland in New Territories, Hong Kong and won the title. Yan Kiu (周煒蕎) and Juliette Louie (雷莊𠒇) were the respective first and second runners-up.
Miss Universe Hong Kong 2025 contestants
On September 20, 2025, Rhodes will crown her successor at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. It is the second edition of the beauty pageant that selects the Miss Universe candidate of Hong Kong.
Hong Kong was represented in Miss Universe by Miss Hong Kong in 1952, in 1954, in 1960, in 1962, in 1964, in 1965, from 1967 to 1970 and from 1972 to 200. Miss Universe Hong Kong started in 2024 with Kimmy Low as the national director.
