Jadan Micah Orr, 20, of Cheyenne, Laramie County, Wyoming, United States has been arrested. He is accused of fatally shooting a man.

Orr is an airman with the 90th Missile Wing, a component of Twentieth Air Force (20th AF). Headquartered at the Francis E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming, the numbered air force is responsible for maintaining and operating the intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) force of the U.S. Air Force.

On the early morning of August 16, 2025, Orr was at the Sundance Apartments on the 200 block of Walterscheid Boulevard in Cheyenne. He had been drinking at the apartment with several friends.

At around 3:30 a.m., Orr went into a bedroom with two friends. He picked up an AK-47 in the bedroom, handled the firearm, charged it and fired it.

The bullet went through a wall and hit a man, 23, in the torso. He was in the living room when he was shot.

Several people tried to administer medical aid to the victim. Emergency personnel responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Authorities have yet to release the name of the victim. Orr was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Brayden Lovan

In other news, Brayden Lovan of the 90th Security Forces Squadron, 90th Missile Wing has died. He was 21.

While Lovan was on duty on July 20, 2025, he was fatally shot allegedly by another airman. The U.S. Air Force have yet to release the name of the suspect.

Because of the shooting, the U.S. Air Force Global Strike Command suspended the use of Sig Sauer’s M18 handgun. Other military branches have continued to use the gun, which is reportedly susceptible to firing without the trigger being pulled.

On August 12, 2025, officials at the F. E. Warren Air Force Base announced the arrest of the suspect. He was charged with involuntary manslaughter, obstructing justice and making a false statement.
