Kylie Monteiro of Rehoboth, Massachusetts, United States has died. She was 18.

Monteiro was in a relationship with Gregory Groom, 22, of Rehoboth. She is Faith Monteiro‘s sister.
Kylie was 11 weeks pregnant at the time of her death. She last seen alive in the area of County Street in Rehoboth on August 7, 2025.
“He threw me on the ground, and pulled my hair and strangled me,” Kylee said in a text message she sent Faith that day. “My phone’s at 4 percent if I die, it was Greg.”
Whether or not the child Kylee was carrying was Groom’s is unclear. On the evening of August 19, 2025, investigators found her remains in a grave a property in Rehoboth where Groom lives with his grandparents.

On August 8, 2025, Groom contacted police and reported Kylee missing. He told officers that she was visiting his residence in Rehoboth and looking for a place to stay but left after they had an argument.
Later, Groom changed his story. He told officers that on August 6, 2025, he and Kylee had an argument and she fell and hit her head after he pushed her.
Groom also told the officers that he knocked Kylee’s phone out of her hand. When they told him they were preparing to search his property in Rehoboth, he told them he used a kitchen knife to repeatedly stab her during an argument then dug a hole in the woods where he buried her five feet underground.
On August 20, 2025, Groom was arraigned in Taunton District Court in Taunton, Massachusetts and charged with murder in connection with Kylee’s death. He pleaded not guilty.
The Rehoboth man was ordered to be held without bail. On September 10, 2025, he will attend his next court hearing.
