Bailey Anne Kennedy of Williamsport, Maryland, United States was born biologically male in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. She is the first transwoman, the first Asian, the first married woman, the first military spouse and the oldest woman to win Miss Maryland USA.
On June 1, 2024, Kennedy represented Williamsport at Miss Maryland USA 2024 and competed against 95 other candidates at the North Bethesda Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Rockville, Maryland. She won the title.
Miss Maryland USA 2025
On August 24, 2025, Kennedy will crown her successor Miss Maryland USA 2025 at the Bethesda North Convention Center in Rockville. It is the 73rd edition of the beauty pageant that selects Maryland’s candidate for Miss USA, which selects the Miss Universe candidate of the U.S.

On July 17, 1957, Gage represented Maryland at Miss USA 1957, competed against 43 other candidates at the Long Beach Municipal Auditorium in Long Beach, California, USA and won the title. She was supposed to represent the U.S. at Miss Universe 1957 at the same venue on July 19, 1957 but she was disqualified after it was discovered that she was a married woman with two children.
On April 2, 2023, Mushinge competed against 106 other Miss Maryland USA 2023 candidates at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Rockville, Montgomery County, Maryland, USA and won the title. On September 29, 2023, she represented Maryland at Miss USA 2023, competed against 50 other candidates at Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, USA and finished in the Top 20.
