When Phiranya Thipphomvong (ພິຣັນຍາ ທິບພົມວົງ) represented Houaphanh, Laos at Miss Universe Laos 2023, she was runner-up to Phaimany Lathsabanthao. A total of 15 women competed for the title at the National Convention Hall in Vientiane, Laos on July 23, 2023.
On June 8, 2024, Thipphomvong represented Houaphanh at Miss Universe Laos 2024, competed against 17 other candidates at the Saint Phila Convention Hall in Vientiane and won the title. Phoudthasone Phimmakaisone of Xaisomboun and Soukthida Paseuth of Khammouane were the first and second runners-up, respectively.
Miss Universe Laos 2025
On September 21, 2025, Thipphomvong will crown her successor at the Vientiane Ballroom of Crowne Plaza Vientiane in Vientiane. It is the seventh edition of the national beauty pageant that selects the Miss Universe candidate of Laos.
There are 18 women competing for the Miss Universe Laos 2025 crown. If facial beauty is the only criterion, these will be my Top 5 candidates:

Currently, Laos has one Miss Universe placement. This was achieved by Paxengxa Lor in 2022.
Laos was represented in Miss Universe by Souphaphone Somvichith in 2017, Vichitta Phonevilay in 2019 and Tonkham Phonchanhueang in 2021. On January 14, 2023, Lor represented the country at Miss Universe 2022, competed against 82 other candidates at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States and finished in the Top 16.
Representing Laos, Lathsabanthao competed against 83 other Miss Universe 2023 candidates at the Gimnasio Nacional Jose Adolfo Pineda in San Salvador, El Salvador on November 18, 2023 and Thipphomvong competed against 124 other Miss Universe 2024 candidates at the Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, Mexico on November 16, 2024. They were both unplaced.
