Emina Ekić of Ptuj, Slovenia was 22 when she competed against 11 other Miss Universe Slovenia 2017 finalists at the Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ljubljana, Slovenia on October 7, 2017. She won the title.
Runner-up to Ekic was Ariela Mandelc, then 22, of Bistrica pri Tržiču and the second runner-up was Vanessa Preložnik, then 19, of Celje. From 2018 to 2024, Ekic was not able to crown her successor.
Miss Universe Slovenia 2025
On September 3, 2025, Ekic will crown her successor at Odiseja in Ljubljana. It is the 17th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Slovenia’s Miss Universe candidate.
There are 15 women competing for the Miss Universe Slovenia 2025 crown. If facial beauty is the only criterion, these will be my Top 5 candidates:

Currently, Slovenia has one Miss Universe placement. The country was represented in the international beauty pageant from 2001 to 2011, from 2013 to 2014 and from 2016 to 2017.
Miss Universe Slovenia was organized by Delo Revije Magazine from 2001 to 2011 and Sejem Kozmetika in 2017. From 2013 to 2016, the national director was Vladimir Kraljevic, who reprised the role in 2025.
On May 28, 2007, Tjaša Kokalj represented Slovenia at Miss Universe 2007 and competed against 76 other candidates at the National Auditorium in Mexico City, Mexico. She finished in the Top 15.
Slovenia’s Miss Universe 2015 candidate Ana Haložan suffered an accident and was hospitalized when she arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. She withdrew from the competition but she was allowed to walk on the stage during the coronation ceremony at The AXIS in Las Vegas on December 20, 2015.
Born in Slovenske Konjice, Halozan turned 28 on September 27, 2024. Born in Ljubljana, Kokalj turned 39 on January 20, 2025.
