Shelby Duane Machac, 47, of Chilton, Falls County, Texas, United States is in jail again. He was recently caught in a sting operation targeting child predators in Lacy Lakeview, McLennan County, Texas.

Aside from Chilton, Machac has lived in other parts of Texas including Bellmead, Bremond and Waco. He is 5’11” tall and his registered weight is 180 pounds.
On April 7, 2023, Machac was arrested in McLennan County. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
In September 2024, Machac turned 47. Shortly after 7:00 p.m. on September 3, 2025, he sent a Facebook message to someone who he thought was a girl.
When the purported girl told Machac she was 15 years old, he continued sending messages. He wrote, “Your (sic) only 15. Wow. Your (sic) well developed for 15.”
Machac asked the purported girl to send him naked pictures and asked about her breasts and whether she had short or long toes. In one message he sent her, he wrote, “The ball is in your court. You decide. Because underage. I’m down for whatever.”
Moreover, Machac told the purported girl what he planned to do to her in bed. He told her to meet him at the Live Oak Park in the 500 block of E Craven Avenue in Lacy Lakeview.
Unbeknownst to Machac, the purported girl was actually an undercover detective. On September 4, 2025, the Chilton man arrived at the Live Oak Park where he expected to meet an underage girl.
Instead, Machac was arrested by Lacy Lakeview Police Department officers. He was booked into the McLennan County Jail in Waco.
Initially, Machac denied knowing the age of the purported girl he was communicating with and wanting to have sex with her. Eventually, he admitted to discussing sexual acts with who he thought was an underage girl.
Bond for Machac was set at $25,000. He was charged with online solicitation of a minor.
